The great British weather lived up to its reputation and as the Daylesford team threw open the gates to the farm, the heavens opened up…thank goodness for our Paramo ponchos and Barbour Jackets!

This marks the celebration for the start of summer for our team, time to meet up with friends and familiar faces once again. For every single person behind the scenes at Daylesford, you can sense the true joy in welcoming customers to celebrate good food and a dedication to sustainability, education, preservation, the welfare of the soil and their animals. It’s clear that they all have an honest passion for all things organic and take pride in their environment and sharing this with customers.

We headed over to the Cotswolds the day before, to see all the Daylesford team setting up the event which was on a larger scale this year, with some brilliant additions for the children and new ideas that stole the show.

As anticipated the festival was was full of organic goodness; from the Artisan food market featuring Daylesford producers, farm tours hosted by Farm Manager Richard Smith, right through to the Arts and crafts producers showcasing their skills under the shelter of the Home Barn. Market Garden tours didn’t favour the weather but Jez Taylor kept spirits high with his Cider, and the brilliant salad leaf tasting experience throughout the day.

That’s without mentioning singers, dancers, jazz bands, face painting, live printing in the Hay Barn, basket weaving, cookery demonstrations and the now famous dog show sponsored by Millie’s Kitchen…phew…what a day!
