We joined the Jocks & Nerds crew for their Summer of Love party with Levi’s. The summer of 1967 had an impact on music, fashion and culture that still resonates today. A generation emerged that rejected conformity. They travelled west, settled in San Francisco and began to “turn on, tune in, and drop out”.
Bands like the Doors and the Jimi Hendrix Experience soundtracked that Summer of Love, when young America made its voice heard. Then, as now, Levi’s was the counterculture’s uniform. Now, Levi’s Vintage Clothing’s spring/summer 2017 collection celebrates those pieces that became as iconic as the bands that wore them 50 years ago.
As well as the new inspired collection, we checked sounds from tipped British band the Second Sons, and enjoyed drinks from Anchor Brewing Co, which has crafted Anchor Steam Beer in San Francisco since 1896.
